Weekly online videos from sensei Saito Morihiro Nidaime (Waka sensei)
To all Shin Shin Aiki Shurenkai dojo instructors:
We are hoping everyone is in the best health, we write to you from the Iwama Hombu dojo and the Tokyo Shin Shin Aiki Shurenkai dojo to open the official application to sensei Morihiro Saito Nidaime’s instructional online video technique.
As the current events unfold the effects of COVID-19 throughout the world, many international dojos have seen their normal activities being affected or totally suspended. This situation is not only affecting the international dojos, but it also impacts the uchideshi program of the Ibaraki hombu dojo, as well as all national and international seminars which had been cancelled.
For this reason, a new platform of technical study emerged straight from sensei Saito Morihiro Nidaime (Waka sensei). This instructional material is straightforward and manageable, as it consists of detailed videos from sensei uploaded to a closed FB group. Each video covers in great detail a wide range of taijutsu and bukiwaza techniques, which are currently taught at the Iwama hombu dojo. Each week, sensei records new techniques that are regularly uploaded to the FB group to be seen by students, who can replay and practice along with the videos.
This project was conceived to provide a way for students who can’t travel to Iwama to keep up with their training, the positive feedback and good rapport from students have made it possible to give the chance to expand it to other international dojos and students who want to join Iwama hombu dojo training program.
Due to the technical nature of the material, the inscription process can’t be done individually but requires the approval from each dojo cho.
The formal requirements to join the group are the following:
- Approval from dojo cho.
- 5kyu degree onwards.
- To include the following information should into the application:
- Full name
- Username on Facebook
- Date of birth
- Dan or kyu grade (from 5kyu onwards)
- Country
- Dojo’s name
- Dojo cho name
The annual subscription is USD240 and payments are coordinated through Monica sensei from Chile and Takamura sensei from Tokyo. These can be done through international transfer (wester union), Paypal or bank account transfer.
It is very important to note that this material is for individual use only, one account for each student or instructor of Iwama Shin Shin Aiki Shurenkai exclusively. Under no circumstances this material should be downloaded, uploaded, or distributed to other online platforms.
